It is the greenest we have ever seen it here in Austin lately & I just want to hold onto it. Take picture after picture & hope for the rain to continue, on & off. This girl loves her some Texas clear skies & we got'em.

So this weekend I do believe some sunbathing will be squeezed in, under those clear skies, while sipping on some of this..

A little work, sun & refreshing drinks. Yup, this weekend is looking like a keeper.

build update // balcony phase 1

Can I just tell you, I now know how a mother feels when she watches her son play football or when her daughter is being held on the top of the cheerleader pyramid. It's just 14ft up & his ladder is 6ft, oh that warning "not for standing on" that's just for fun, right? I held my breath & felt like I had to pee, while he covered up the warning with HIS FEET! A railing just in case, yeah, that's not installed yet. Not to forget the part where I was on the ladder feeling THAT feeling in my legs, while he was on the other side of the wall 20+ feet up with a heavy nail gun. Boy, you crazy.

let's talk road trip

With all the stress of our build sitting on our shoulders lately, we can't help but dream about signing that line & chucking those keys on over. shh, this girl will miss it though & will drive by it more than she should. THEN in one quick snatch, grabbing onto our suitcase & hitting that road. Destination, relaxation. Exploring is in our near future & below is what I sure would love to be in that suitcase I snatched. SMILE, I want that camera!! Birthday gift?? It is next friday after all. Eek.

weekend recap

Dear sweet & precious hummingbird that flew into our garden last Friday & returned for a glimpse on Saturday, thank you. You brought us a lovely weekend that included; working together, eating lunch while overlooking our dream, enjoying our sweet friends, soaking up the bright sun, snuggling with our pups & my favorite, dancing with my love. Where we held each other tight, we shared sweet words & our love was present, surrounded by life. Life sure is sweet.

Dear Texas friends, you make our smiles brighter & our laughs louder. Thank you. AND Casey, your song makes our hearts melt into one & release all that is not needed. Thank you for writing a song that will forever get my man on that dance floor & into my arms. We love you guys.

I hope your weekend showered you with love & this week, does just the same.

yesterday morning

I keep saying it feels so bright & Springy. Him, "Probably because it's Spring." So he has a point. Funny thing, it feels the same way today. BUT this morning we had a hummingbird in our garden. I am certain this means this weekend is going to be magical. That is what it means right? Realist comment not welcome here.

Yesterday morning I juiced one super Springy juice to go along with my mood. It was an explosion of flavor & this is where I share my mixture...

JUICIN' APPLE + CARROT +

1 red delicious apple
1 gala apple
1 cameo apple
8 carrots
1 plum
2 nectarines
ground cinnamon

Makes : 2 large servings
Serve over ice with a straw(neon because it's more fun) & add a dash or two of cinnamon on top.
We enjoyed it with a simple lightly buttered english muffin. Yum.

bulid update

So I know you are wondering why these here updates have been nonexistent. Well remember when I told you we ran into an issue with the meter? Well we're still dealing with it. BUT hopefully not for long. If you have ever had to deal with the city before, I know you feel me. Two things with building/remodeling that NEVER changes, delays & pushed back deadlines. No matter how hard you try.

So here's the update. The trees are filling in nicely & really they are making our design come to life. Happy hearts over here. He thought up a killer design idea to get over the meter issue. Can I please note that the city should have caught this meter location issue before we got the a-okay to start building. Noting this makes me feel better. Now let's get back to those trees. Eek.

Once he came up with the cedar slat balcony idea, I ran to the internet for more inspiration when it came to pulling it all together. Then I found this beautiful Modern Wooden House for inspiration on Viahouse.com. Talk about an inspirational website.

So stay tuned because once this meter issue is wrapped up, we will be left with a beautiful balcony & a house that will start flying together. Happy Thursday to ya.

on the first day of spring

I pulled this vintage tee form my drawer & couldn't help but smile when I looked in the mirror. Maybe it's the color. Maybe it's because it looks super cute with gray jeans & neon pink nails. Maybe it's because it reads Silver Lake. Maybe it's because it makes me wanna dance. Maybe it's because it reminds me of my beautiful family & all that they've helped me to become. Yeah, maybe it's that. ALL of that. Thanks vintage neon tee. Thanks for making my first day of Spring so bright while he worked, way too late.

Today I plan on hitting up the shops to start making my Bright idea 3D. Yes this girl is up to something & she has given herself a deadline. Wish me luck! A good day to ya.

can't get you off my mind

Yesterday I painted ALL day with the mister & complained too much while doing so. For some reason my trick isn't working & he keeps calling me back for help. I guess I'm good or something & not to forget, I pack a pretty mean lunch. But today I get to be girly, with lipstick, wavy hair & pretty clothes to boot. Keep your paint spotted jeans & sneaks Tuesday. All while being creative. Let's get this thang started..

weekend recap

Our weekend started in the garden were she picked & he mowed. She picked more & then he picked with her. Weeds we are kinda sick of you over here, BUT, oh me oh my does our garden look pretty.

We discovered the plant in our garden that keeps stinkin' up P-Putt. To our surprise, she wasn't even rolling in it. Just passing by & getting nailed with stink, just like the perfume counter at the mall. These wipes do the trick & make our pups smell like raspberry shortcake. Which than reminds me of my sister & her love for her Strawberry Shortcake doll when she was little. It's a win win.

On family day(Sunday) I whipped up some french toast with homemade strawberry sauce. Yes I did. & I'm still proud of it.

The second part of family day was spent reorganizing this mans tools. You see last week he picked up a new toy & still can't stop smiling about it. "Hey hottie, can this girl catch a ride?"

Then family day ended with champagne.

a note to him

We watched The Notebook last night & I cried while you slept. I know you suggested the movie for me, so when you slowing fell into the corner of the couch, I didn't try waking you. But can I tell you this, I love you, with everything. It's so easy to let time go by before you realize where it has gone. Together we walk a path that is led by love, leaving a beautiful story in our dust. No matter where we are, where we live, where we love, we will live our story. You called me yesterday just to tell me you love me. I sent you a cute smiley icon back where the purple smiley attacks the yellow smiley with hugs & kisses. That pretty much sums it up. I love our story. I love our past. I love our future. But I love you more & I will forever attack you with hugs & kisses. Love, your wifey.

family day with a pin or four

This weekend is calling for thunderstorms on family day (Sunday). So it looks like..

When it comes to our designs other than price being the #1 factor, design details are standing right behind in line, trying to cut. We often get asked where we find our lighting. Now I won't say that we never buy from Home Depot or Lowes because we have & will continue to, every now & then. We keep up on all the products there & currently there are only a select few that we would consider. We also shop Ikea every now & then as well. So here is the answer to your question: Online. Our guests have now left & are headed back home to their pup & loved ones. Love them. As for us, we have already hit up HEB & planned our evening together. Plan: eat more veggies than one knows what to do with while watching our missed shows on his computer, in bed, just like pictured above. Commercial breaks may involve make out sessions. I'm happy to have my man back all to myself.

We are still enjoying our time with our family over here. Last weekends wedding we broke it down, rode a mechanical bull & walked away with pulled muscles & big bruises. TOTALLY worth it. Things around here have been crazy busy. As in, wake up before the good old sun & home in time for Jay Leno. Dinner is a bonus. BUT that all changes tonight. His family is coming in from Michigan & Minnesota for his cousin's wedding over in San Antonio on Saturday. So...

build update

Still waiting on that metal siding BUT how amazing does that cedar look?! Wires, plumbing & HVAC is almost 100%. Same for the metal roof. The broken window that was created by the framers is now fixed & the sliding balcony door has been installed, along with the garage door. The window in the master closet is in & completes the window design on the back of the house. We ran into an issue with the meter but we hope to be able to resolve the issue without breaking the relationship he has since created with his little book, aka THE checkbook. Overall things are moving right along & people really seem to be taking a liking to our build. This makes us so happy & extremely excited to finish. Stay tuned.
